St John of God Hospital Subiaco is a world-class facility with a special focus on providing a warm and welcoming environment. The Hospital's nursing caregivers are well recognised for their ability to combine compassionate, patient focused care with the highest levels of clinical excellence. Today the Hospital has over 500 beds and provides a wide range of clinical specialities and easy access to a range of on-site diagnostic services including radiology, pathology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and two cardiac and vascular intervention laboratories.

The ICU has a bed capacity of 9. The unit is a Level 2 general ICU that is capable of managing most ICU patients including ventilatory support, inotropes, renal replacement therapy (Haemodiafiltration), invasive haemodynamic and neurosurgical monitoring. It has a excellent complement of medical, nursing and ancillary staff dedicated to patient welfare and clinical excellence.

Plans are well underway for a complete refurbishment to an independent 11 ventilated beds ICU and separate CCU.

The ICU runs the hospital’s Medical Emergency Response Team and Resuscitation Team.

The ICU currently admits approximately 400 patients per year and is growing quickly.
